Top Ten Tuesday: Spring Releases I’m Most Excited to Read

I’ve come to realize that when I make TBR lists for each month or season, I don’t usually stick to it. Books from the library are usually a priority because they have to be returned, but sometimes I just want to (finally) read a book I’ve had on my shelf for far too long. Thus, as a compromise, here are ten books coming out this spring that I hope to read soon.

Heart of Iron by Ashley Poston: I’ve had my eye on this book far before I read Geekerella. In fact, I had no idea it was by the same author. But after reading Geekerella, although these books are two different genres, I’ve been all the more eager to read this book. Now if only my March Owlcrate would get here sooner… (Because that’s the book this month, I’m sure of it.)

Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi: I heard about this book so long ago I can hardly believe it’s already been released. I have it on hold from the library but it’s taking a looong time to come in. Basically, I’m pumped for this African-based fantasy story.

Queens of Innis Lear by Tessa Gratton: It took me far too long to realize this book is a sort of retelling of King Lear… a Shakespeare play I’ve yet to read. Still, I’m stoked to read it because it sounds bloody awesome (pun definitely intended). I want to read King Lear first, though.

Dread Nation by Justina Ireland: I’m not usually a fan of zombies, but this is a historical novel about zombies during the Civil war. Be still my heart! After loving Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, I’m all about the zombie apocalypse set during a historical time period.

Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody: I’m a sucker for stories about thieves and conman, so Ace of Shades sounds like it’s right up my alley (Pun. Intended.) I’ve seen mixed reviews about this one, but I’m keeping my hopes up that it’ll be an exciting story.

Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young: Viking warrior lady? Feuding clans? Sibling betrayal?! Heck yes! I won an ARC of this book in a Goodreads giveaway, and I am so excited to read it.

Ash Princess by Laura Sebastian: I don’t know much about this book other than the title is intriguing and cover is gorgeous. But basically, a story about a feisty princess out for revenge sounds like my kind of fantasy story.

Brightly Burning by Alexa Donne: Jane Eyre in space? Jane. Eyre. In. Space. I know, I know, did someone read my Christmas list? I mean, I haven’t actually read all of Jane Eyre (yet), but I’ve seen most of the movie adaptations and I basically need this book ASAP. Also, I’m planning to (finally) read Jane Eyre in April in preparation for this book’s release.

The Burning Maze by Rick Riordan: Every year, another Riordan book comes out, and every year I look forward to more adventures in mythology. The Trials of Apollo books are no exception. I’m excited to see these characters head west and hopefully meet up with some of the Camp Jupiter gang!

Legendary by Stephanie Garber: I’ll be the first to admit I wasn’t impressed with Caraval. It had a lot of problems that I just couldn’t overlook. But that doesn’t mean I’m not interested to read the sequel, Legendary, because I definitely am. I hope this book fixes the problems I had with Caraval and make me fall in love with the beautifully written world Stephanie Garber has created.
