Books and Waffles Alphabeticals: G

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is Books That I Refuse to Let Anyone Touch. But I couldn’t think of any books for this list. So instead, here is another Alphabetical post!

The letter G wasn’t as hard as I anticipated. I only had a little trouble with book titles since one of the ones I listed I haven’t read in a long time.

Authors Beginning with G

Ryan Graudin: The first Graudin book I read was Invictus, which was a lot of fun. But Wolf by Wolf and Blood for Blood are hands down the best books I’ve read by her. I hope to read The Walled City soon, though!

Gris  Grimly: I don’t know where this man came from, but he is a genius. I’ve only read his adaptation of Frankenstein, but the artwork is so freaking stunning that I need to read more of his adaptations soon!

Robin Jones Gunn: In middle school and high school, the Christy Miller and Co. books were my go-to contemporary reads. I always talk about how I don’t like contemporary, but I thrived reading these books. They’re awesome.

Books Beginning with G

Geekerella by Ashley Poston: One of the best contemporaries I’ve read recently, reading this book felt like I was written a personal permissions slip to fangirl. While the story of how Elle and Darien meet is a little cheesy, I love the fandom aspects woven throughout the novel and I am so excited Ashley is writing more books in the Once Upon a Con series!

The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee: I love historical fiction, so if you can add a dash of humor and make it work, I’m game. This book was so fun, even though I think The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy is even better.

Graceling by Kristin Cashore: I haven’t read this book in a while, but I remember how vivid the world was and how deep the magic ran. I think I need to reread the whole series again soon.

Characters Beginning with G

Gandalf from The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien: This list wouldn’t be complete without my favorite wizard. Gandalf is an old soul running around Middle-earth and trying to keep it from falling apart. I relate to him immensely.

Gavroche from Les Misérables by Victor Hugo: Gavroche is probably my favorite character from Les Mis. A street rat that lives in a giant elephant statue and is brave enough to join the Barricade Boys? I love you.

Gilbert Blythe from Anne of Green Gables series by L.M. Montgomery: If I was forced to only pick one literary gentleman as my favorite, I would pick Gilbert Blythe. He is such a sweetheart… with a mischievous streak here and there. But he works hard for his dreams, he sacrifices so much for Anne, and he never sways in his loyalty and love. *swoon*
