Books and Waffles Alphabeticals: H

Surprisingly, it was much harder to come up with authors that start with the letter H for an Alphabetical post than books or characters. I did manage to think of a couple that I enjoyed, but I have more characters and books for this letter.

  • Credit Alex for the idea, and link back
  • Post at your own pace, do as many or as few letters as you want
  • Post your favourite authors, books and characters (ABCs) for a particular letter of the alphabet

Jenny Han: I’ve only read her To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before series, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sometimes Lara Jean was a bit immature, but I feel like if I had read these books in high school, I would have connected with her. I hope to read Han’s Summer series soon.

H (2)

Victor Hugo: Despite it’s length, Les Misérables is a fantastic book. I want to read more Hugo, specifically The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, someday.

The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien: This is a given. Of course, The Hobbit is one of my favorite books!

Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones: Last year, I reread Howl’s Moving Castle after years and I loved every moment of it. I also watched the Studio Ghibli film recently and remembered how much I loved that as well!

H (3)

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins: Although my love for The Hunger Games has waned since it became popular, it’s one of the first YA series I remember obsessing over with my friends. It’ll always have a special place on my favorites list.

Haruhi Suzumiya from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya by Nagaru Tanigawa: Haruhi is all kinds of crazy and ridiculous, but I love her anyways. She makes Kyon’s life interesting.

H (5)

Helene Aquilla from An Ember in the Ashes series by Sabaa Tahir: The second time I read through An Ember in the Ashes and A Torch Against the NightA Torch Against the Night, I realized how much I appreciated Helene’s character. She goes through so much and she’s still loyal and brave and determined to do whatever it takes to save those she cares about. Sabaa, give her some kind of happy ending. Please?

H (4)

Howl from Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones: Howl is the best, okay? He’s such a drama queen, but I love him anyways. Both the movie and the book version.

What characters, books, and authors do you love that start with the letter H?

  1. Yeah, H was a little hard to come up with answers for. Good luck when you move on to I and J. I found those to be even harder. (And I’m so not looking forward to X… 😉 )

Howl and the Hobbit are musts! I love your list.

    • Surprisingly, I don’t think I and J were as difficult. I may be cheating a bit and using first names as well as last names, though. Characters might be the trickier aspect for me. I have a poor memory when it comes to character names. XD

      Thank you! 🙂
