This week’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is Books On My Fall 2019 TBR. I don’t make set TBR lists for each month because it usually changes. There are always books I hope to read each month, but I usually tack on a few extras or don’t get to all of them before the month is over. That being said, I hope I read these books in the next coming months.
The Tyrant’s Tomb by Rick Riordan: As always, I look forward to anything Rick Riordan publishes. The Trials of Apollo isn’t my favorite series by him, but I’m still interested in what is going to happen next with Apollo and the Camp Halfblood gang.
The Fountains of Silence by Ruta Sepetys: I will read anything Ruta Sepetys writes. Plus, that cover is gorgeous. I’m just waiting for the heartbreak.
Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo: I am both excited and worried about this book. I admire Leigh for taking the leap into writing an adult fantasy book, but I’m afraid of how dark it might be. Still, I’m willing to give it a chance.
The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern: I think a lot of people are excited about this book. I really enjoyed The Night Circus and while I don’t expect them to be anything alike, I trust Erin Morgenstern has written an excellent story.
Call Down the Hawk by Maggie Stiefvater: The end of The Raven Cycle made me so mad, but I’m always willing to give Maggie Stiefvater books a chance. I also want to reread the rest of The Raven Cycle before this book comes out. We’ll see.
Supernova by Marissa Meyer: I can’t believe this is the end of her superhero trilogy! I feel like I can still remember when she first announced she was writing a book about superheroes. I’m excited to see how she wraps everything up in this final book.
The Sky Weaver by Kristen Ciccarelli: I loved The Last Namsara and The Caged Queen so it’s no surprise that The Sky Weaver is one of my most anticipated releases of the year. That cover looks so badass. I can’t wait to dive into Safire’s story.
Little Women and sequels by Louisa May Alcott: Because of the upcoming movie, I thought it was the right time to reread Little Women and finally read the sequels (that I didn’t know about until a few years ago). I have the gorgeous Barnes and Noble edition with all three novels and it’s been a blast already.
Books for review: I have several digital arcs from NetGalley to read this fall. The ones I’m most excited to read are: Coral by Sara Ella, Ruthless Gods by Emily A. Duncan, and The Map from Here to There by Emery Lord.
Physical TBR: I’m still working through physical books I own and haven’t read. Some of the ones I hope to read before the end of the year include: Vassa in the Night by Sarah Porter, The Walled City by Ryan Graudin, The Thing About Jellyfish by Ali Benjamin, A Thousand Nights by E.K. Johnston, and For Darkness Shows the Stars and its sequel by Diana Peterfreund.
Ninth House and Call Down the Hawk are both on my lists, too!! Absolutely cannot wait for Ronan Lynch again 💕✨

Little Women and Little Men were excellent. I had no idea there were more books to that series after that!

Yes! There’s a third book called “Jo’s Boys.” I didn’t even know about Little Men until recently. I’m glad you think it was excellent!

I want to read The Starless Sea, too! And I know what you mean about tacking on extra books to the TBR so that the ones officially on the list don’t all get finished. I do that too. But you know, a TBR is more of a guideline, so I don’t feel too bad about it. 😉

This is true! I try to make my TBR more of a guideline as well. Usually I don’t get to a book because 1. I own it and put it off for library books or 2. the library copy isn’t available yet.

Oh man, I read library books in favor of books I own, too. Even when I go to the library and pick up a pile of impulse books that I am indifferent about when the books I own are ones I really want to read. I need to get better about prioritizing based on how interested I am instead of when they’re due back to someone else.

I need to be better about it too. I’ve been trying but sometimes the allure of new books is too much! XD

What a great list! I didn’t include new releases in my list, but Ninth House and The Starless Sea would definitely be there too if I had.
