Disney Princess Sidekick Tag

I found this tag at Time for Tales and Tea and it sounded like a lot of fun, so I “stole” it. The tag was created by Mandy and Sha from Book Princess Reviews. They have a few other tags that sound fun that I might do in the future. Enjoy! 🙂

Mushu from Mulan

The comic relief: Name your favourite hilarious character or your favourite comedy/funny book

I don’t read a ton of comedy, but I have read some books that made me laugh out loud, including Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Lumberjanes, and The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl.

Lumberjanes

The Seven Dwarves from Snow White

Favourite group/ensemble

There are so many fantastic books with epic ensemble casts. My favorites include the Rampion crew from The Lunar Chronicles, the Dregs from Six of Crows, and Squad 312 from Aurora Rising.

Grishaverse

Pascal from Tangled

The loyal cheerleader chameleon (not a frog, Flynn Rider): Name a book that started one way but changed for you

I attempted to read I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson last winter but couldn’t get past the first couple sections before giving up. I recently picked it up again and pushed through and ended up liking it more than I expected. It’s not a favorite book, but I’m glad I read it.

I'll Give You the Sun

Meeko from Pocahontas

Pocahontas’ sly and sneaky raccoon friend: Name a plot twist that you didn’t see coming

I read The Merciful Crow last month and while I knew something would go wrong when the Crows went to the rendezvous, I didn’t expect that betrayal. That shocked me and I had barely read enough of the book to care about the characters. It was fantastic.

The Merciful Crow

Rajah from Aladdin

Gentle with their princess but protective with everyone else: Name your favorite best friend in a novel

Hands down, Samwise Gamgee is the best and most loyal friend to have. I love him.

F (1)

Cogsworth, Lumiere, Mrs. Potts, & Chip from Beauty and the Beast

The Musical Bunch: Name a novel where music played a big part or made you want to sing its praises

The first books to come to mind related to music are This Savage Song and Our Dark Duet by Victoria Scwhab. The music aspect of this is definitely interesting!

10-30-18

Maximus from Tangled

The obstacle in Flynn Rider’s way: Name a character that faces a lot of obstacles

There are a lot of characters that face tons of obstacles, but Percy Jackson goes through a lot for being under the age of eighteen. Fighting monsters and titans and even the wrath of the gods, having his memory wiped and being separated from all his friends, and fighting his way through the Underworld—geez, give the kid a break!

C (1)

Hamish, Hubert, & Harris from Brave

Favorite family dynamics in a novel

I love when books have fun and realistic family dynamics. Some of my favorite families include the Bennets, the Marches, the Ingalls, the Cuthberts, and the Betarrinis!

d (1)

Three Fairies from Sleeping Beauty

The Advice Givers: Book that most impacted your life

Always and forever, The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. Not only did these books help shape my theology and faith but they inspire me first and foremost to write my own stories.

The Horse and His Boy (3)

Hei Hei from Moana

Name a character that steals the show

Silas from Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson definitely steals the show. He even surpasses a dark and broody warlock that has major Loki/Howl vibes.

Sorcery of Thorns (2)

Gus & Jaq from Cinderella

Opposites Attract: Name your favorite or worst opposite attracts pairing

Of course, I’m going to mention Cress and Thorne from The Lunar Chronicles. They are too cute and I love that they both become better for each other. (Though, Thorne does so more than Cress.)

The Lunar Chronicles

I’m not going to tag anybody specifically since I wasn’t tagged myself, but if you like the questions, feel free to “steal” it. Let me know if you do!

  1. Ooh, thanks so much for doing the tag! I loved all of the gangs that you included in your favorite ensembles. The group from Six of Crows and The Lunar Chronicles are so magical. And omg, Percy Jackson has been through so much! I enjoy all of his adventures, but dear gosh, he certainly didn’t get a break. Thanks again for doing the tag, and I enjoyed reading your answers! 🙂
