Top Ten Tuesday: Most Recent Additions to My Bookshelf

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is The Ten Most Recent Additions to My Bookshelf. I wasn’t sure if this was a physical bookshelf or my Goodreads shelves, so since I got a few books for Christmas, I decided to go with my physical bookshelf.

Dangerous Alliances by Jennieke Cohen: I purchased LitJoy’s December crate since it was all about Jane Austen. The items included are fabulous, but I’m looking forward to reading the book selection, Dangerous Alliances.

Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini: My husband bought me a paperback boxed set of the series with matching covers for Christmas. Previously, I owned the first two with the original paperback covers, but they never made the third and fourth in paperback with those covers so I was never going to have a matching set unless I bought all of them again. I’m glad to have a matching set now.

The Fall of Arthur by J.R.R. Tolkien: My parents asked me which Tolkien and Lewis books I already owned, so I gave them a list of ones I didn’t own. They bought me a copy of this along with the next two on the list.

The Story of Kullervo by J.R.R. Tolkien: I’m excited to read something original from Tolkien that isn’t related to Middle-earth.

Weight of Glory by C.S. Lewis: I’m determined to read all of C.S. Lewis’s books. Someday.

Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery: One of my friends gave me the Puffin in Bloom versions of Anne of Green Gables and Little Women for Christmas.

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott: They are gorgeous!

Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie: Pixie Dust Official did a Peter Pan themed box for December, and it finally arrived. The edition itself is gorgeous, but the exclusive cover stole my breath. I love everything about the box.

Dividing Eden and Eden Conquered by Joelle Charbonneau: My library weeded this duology from the collection, so I bought both books from the Friends of the Library book sale for $1.00.

Empress of a Thousand Skies and Blood of a Thousand Stars by Rhoda Belleza: While I’ve already read Empress of a Thousand Skies, I snagged both of these from my library’s book sale since I’ve been wanting to read the sequel.

What books have you added to your shelves recently? Don’t forget to join the link-up!

    • Yesss! I don’t love The Little Princess like the other two and I’ve never read Heidi, but a part of me wants to own those editions too because they’re so pretty together.

And yes! You should start with The Hobbit because it’s less daunting and more straightforward adventure than his other works. 🙂

    • Yeah, I feel the same. I hate when they’re aren’t the same format, such as hardcover and paperback. Part of me doesn’t understand why it matters, but it does! They need to match! XD

      • LOL, I have one series in particular where I have most of the books in paperback and one or two in hardback… so the hardbacks have been sent off to another shelf to think about what they’ve done. I always keep my series books together except for that one case. 😀

      • Hahah, nice. I’ve only made an exception for one series where I have 2 in paperback and the last book in hardback because those covers are no longer available because they redesigned. Maybe someday I’ll find copies of in both formats.

      • I would probably keep both formats if some were signed by the author. Anything that is unique or not easy to buy anymore gets to stay!
