Top Ten Tuesday: (Hopefully) Future 5-Star Reads

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is Books On My TBR I Predict Will Be 5-Star Reads. I don’t always rate books I read because the 5-star rating system seems arbitrary to me (especially on Goodreads), but I will rate a book 5 stars if I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to reread it again. I’m crossing my fingers that these books or series will make that list.

Red Seas Under Red Skies by Scott Lynch: Considering I’ve heard nothing but good stuff about this book and I loved The Lies of Locke Lamora, I have high hopes for this one. Now, I just need to read it.

Blood of Kings trilogy by Jill Williamson: I helped Jill fund the audiobook project for this trilogy, so I’m excited to finally read these books. I enjoyed the prequels, so I have no doubt I’ll enjoy these books too.

Between Burning Worlds by Jessica Brody and Joanne Rendell: Sky Without Stars was one of my favorite 2019 reads so if the sequel is just as good, it’ll be brilliant.

Aurora Burning by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff: Do I even need to explain this one?

Splinters of Scarlet by Emily Bain Murphy: It seems like it was forever ago when I read The Disappearances for the first time and fell in love with Emily’s characters and writing. I cannot wait for this book. I might have to buy the US and UK editions because they’re both gorgeous!

The Faithless Hawk by Margaret Owens: The Merciful Crow blew me away. I still think about the world-building descriptions from time to time. I need this sequel ASAP.

The Nobleman’s Guide to Scandal and Shipwrecks by Mackenzi Lee: So far, Mackenzi Lee hasn’t steered me wrong. I’m so excited that she’s writing a book about the third Montague sibling.

Bookish and the Beast by Ashley Poston: I adore Geekerella and The Princess and the Fangirl, so I know I will love this book as well.

Ember in the Ashes 4 by Sabaa Tahir: If this is half as good as the other series (and if Sabaa ever finishes it), it’ll be amazing.

Aurelian Cycle 2 by Rosaria Munda: Fireborne had everything I could want in a story, so I’m looking forward to what happens next with these characters and dragons.

    • Yes! Now we just have to actually READ the book. xD

And Ashley has a lot of different books (some forthcoming), so you might find something in whatever genre you like best.

    • I’m reading By Darkness Hid right now and I like it a lot. I don’t know if it’ll be a 5-star, but I’ll wait until I read the whole trilogy to decide since sometimes reading a sequel makes the first one more meaningful.

      Thanks!
