Books and Waffles Alphabetical: Q

Surprisingly, I didn’t have to substitute any Top Ten Tuesday prompts with an Alphabetical post this month. So I decided to share one today instead.

Rules:

  • Credit Alex for the idea, and link back
  • Post at your own pace, do as many or as few letters as you want
  • Post your favourite authors, books and characters (ABCs) for a particular letter of the alphabet

“Q” is a hard one, people. I managed to find several books and characters that began with the letter Q, but I couldn’t find any authors I’ve read or want to read that begin with the letter Q. I even checked first names and middle initials and couldn’t find anybody. I don’t know if that means I failed on this letter or what. Here are the books and characters I like that begin with the letter Q.

Book

The Queen of Attolia by Megan Whalen Turner: I didn’t expect to like this book so much, and I’m angry I waited so long to actually read it. There were so many twists and turns and I just love Gen so much.

The Queens of Innis Lear by Tessa Gratton: This book was long and dense, but it was so much better than the original Shakespeare play. I actually had reason to care about the characters, and the fantasy world-building was incredible.

Quiet Girl in a Noisy World: An Introvert’s Story by Debbie Tung: If anybody ever asks to read a book to understand who I am, I’m referring them to this book. This is my life. Debbie even has the same personality type as me.

Character

Quigley Quagmire from A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket: Other than the main characters, Quigley is clearly one of the best characters from this series. He’s resourceful and smart, and I love the hint of something more between him and Violet.

Ramona Quimby from the Ramona Quimby series by Beverly Cleary: Growing up, I wished I could have been as crazy and rambunctious as Ramona. I read this series more times than I can count, and it’s all because of how fun Ramona is. She’s great.

What authors, books, and characters do you love that begin with the letter Q? Anybody know a good author that does?
