This week’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is Ten Signs You’re a Book Lover. This was way too easy to come up with, but also the list could go on and on and on…
I always have a book with me: I think anybody who carries a book with them would be considered a book dragon.
I own a thousand million bookmarks: Anybody else have too many bookmarks yet you’re not willing to toss any away? Yeah, me too. And I love “matching” my bookmark to the book if I can.
I have my library card number memorized: This is a must for when I need to put new books on hold immediately.
I always asks people what they’re reading: I’m curious! Tell me about the book in your hand or bag or pocket or phone. I want to know!
I give books as gifts: If it’s a possibility, it happens. Always.
I’m usually caught reading everywhere: I’m known as someone who is always reading because, well, it’s true.
I need another bookshelf: I just got one for Christmas and I’m already almost out of space…
I have a high reading goal: Whether you make a goal or you just read a lot, people are constantly amazed when I tell them how many books I’ve read. What else am I supposed to do in my free time?
I have way too many books on my TBR: Anybody else have a physical or digital TBR that seems impossible?
Everybody asks you for book recommendations: My boss, who is a librarian, always points to me when someone at work asks for YA book suggestions. Whatever, man.
Which of these signs can you relate to? Are there any I missed? Don’t forget to join the link-up!
Um. Your list: it me.
Also, while some people talk about reading down their TBR because the pile of unread books mocks them, I find the thought of being without a physical TBR rather scary. I need my book hoard, darn it! 😉

Even if I wanted to read through my TBR, I doubt it would ever happen because there are always new books. I’d really like to just read through books I own so I can get rid of them if I don’t want to keep them and give myself more shelf space!

Well, granted. I would like to know if I want to keep the unread books on my shelf, or unhaul them. But then i’d just replace them with new unread books. 😉

I have my library card number memorized, too!

It’s so much easier than pulling it out every time I want to put something on hold or check my account! 🙂

I don’t have my library card memorized. I just tell them my name and they know what it is. http://pmprescott.blogspot.com/2020/03/ttt-033120.html

I memorize it so I can put books on hold online, but it’s cool that they can just look you up!

You’ve memorized your library card number. Impressive! Right before the coronavirus epidemic closed our libraries and hustled over and checked out nine books. I love my public library. What a bargain. Books for free! I am a book lover

I had quite a few titles checked out from my library as well, but I’m on the last one! I’ll have to turn to books I own and digital titles until this all passes.

I have my library card number memorized, too. It’s just easier to punch it into the checkout kiosk than to go to the trouble of rummaging in my purse for my wallet, pulling out the card, scanning the card, etc. Also, yes, it’s necessary for placing holds – although my computer also has my card memorized 🙂
Happy TTT!

Yeah, I have it memorized so I can put items on hold as well! I work at a library so I don’t ever have to pull it out to check items out. I just punch in my name. XD

It’s cool that you have your library card # memorized! Honestly, I don’t even have to use it- in my county you can change the pin to be your birthday- that’s just easier. Sorry, I’m in too much of a rush to finish checking out and read the book already! 😉

Hahaha! That’s interesting! 🙂

ALL OF THESE! I think it’s weird that not everyone who regularly uses the library doesn’t have it memorised- at my library you have to manually enter it if you want to put a hold on something.

My library has to enter it manually as well if you aren’t at a desk (checkout, reference, etc.), but I guess not all libraries are the same or maybe people don’t put things on hold as often as us! XD

Great list! I got a new shelf and two book carts in June last year and now I need two more bookshelves 😂 Apparently getting those items were reason enough for me to go completely wild on the book buying!

Hahah! I understand the dilemma. I have a LOT of bookshelves and we live in a small apartment. I don’t think we have room for another one unless we get rid of other furniture!
