I actually wrote in my mini review of A Thousand Nights by E.K. Johnston that I wasn’t sure if I liked the book or not because it’s just so different.

I just reread The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and despite having a love-hate relationship with the fandom side of the series (due to the movies), I will probably always have a soft spot in my bookish heart for this trilogy.

I will probably always want to reread books like Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones. I reread it not too long ago but I’m already thinking about how I want to reread it (and actually read the rest of the series).

There are so many good books about friendship, but Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery is one of my favorites because it has so many different layers of relationships and friendships: Diana’s and Gilbert’s and even Matthew’s and Marilla’s relationships with Anne.

I’ve been rereading a lot of favorites lately and I just can’t handle Elisa from An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir, but honestly, Laia and Helene are great heroines to swoon over as well. So thanks, Sabaa!

For sure, The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas. It’s not as long as Les Mis, but it’s pretty close.

I’m all for short books and I love so many children’s books, but Small Spaces by Katherine Arden is such a great read, especially for October.

There are so many series that I haven’t finished, but one of the ones I feel the most guilty about is Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card. I had every intention to keep reading the series and the side series, but it just hasn’t happened. Oops?
Gandalf: All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us | A book that made you think about your life, the universe and everything once you finished it
Every time I read a book by Ruta Sepetys, I’m left thinking about life, the universe, and everything. Her books are so powerful and important, and I love that sense of awakening her books evoke where you shift your perspective just slightly as you learn about history that is often forgotten or covered up.

And I might just borrow your use of Enders Game for the series where you didn’t get past book one prompt. I also read the first book and then never went further. I don’t feel guilty about it, though. At the time, I didn’t know there was a series, and that book just tied everything up so neatly that I never wanted more.

I agree that Ender’s Game does tie up nicely. I think the “guilt” comes from the fact that a friend encouraged me to read more of the series and the side series and I never did. XD

I get that. Mr. Wyrm owns and has enjoyed the series, so it feels a bit weird for me to be like, “nah, the first one was good.”
