This week’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is Resolutions/Hopes for 2021. I don’t really make a lot of resolutions for the year, so instead of trying to come up with ten things, I’m going to share another alphabetical post.
Rules:
- Credit Alex for the idea, and link back
- Post at your own pace, do as many or as few letters as you want
- Post your favourite authors, books and characters (ABCs) for a particular letter of the alphabet
I can’t believe I only have one more to do after this. Y was hit or miss. Authors and characters were surprisingly easy to come up with, but I don’t know as many books that start with Y, which is seems odd to me. Though, most of the names on this list are from manga.
Authors
Satsuki Yoshino: One of my favorite manga series is Barakamon so of course she makes my list.
Kiiro Yumi: My other favorite manga series is Library Wars (I know, I talk about it all the time), so Yumi makes my list for Y as well!

Books
A Year Down Yonder by Richard Peck: It has been a really long time since I read this book, but I remember enjoying it. I remember such random glimpses of events that happened in this book.
Your Name by Makoto Shinkai: While I think the film of this story is the best version, the manga was great too. I love the story so much.

Characters
Yael from Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Graudin: Okay, Yael is easily one of my favorite female YA characters because she kicks butt. Plus having the ability to change her appearance as well as a vendetta to kill Hitler—absolutely epic.

Nagato Yuki from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya / The Disappearance of Nagaot Yuki-chan by Nagaru Tanigawa: I relate so much to Nagato Yuki. She’s one of my favorite manga/anime characters.
I really enjoyed the Your Name film, but I haven’t read the manga. My niece started it recently, though, so maybe I’ll borrow the manga from her.
I can’t think of any “Y” characters or authors at the moment, but I know that the Young Wizards series by Diane Duane will be on my list (since I try to include series as well).

I enjoyed the film the most. I thought the manga and the light novel followed pretty closely with the movie, so it wasn’t as if there was anything new. But the manga has such beautiful illustrations that it was worth reading anyways, especially since it’s so short.

That’s good to know! But yeah, I really liked the film.
