Top Ten Tuesday: 2020 Books I Still Need to Read

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is Books I Meant to Read In 2020 but Didn’t Get To. I read an awful lot of the 2020 releases I wanted to read. A few I didn’t have a chance to get to yet and others I hadn’t really planned to read last year but added them to my list for future reads.

Elatsoe by Darcie Little Badger: I haven’t heard a lot about this book, but the cover and the synopsis intrigued me so I’d like to read it sooner rather than later.

The Left-Handed Booksellers of London by Garth Nix: I’m not sure I’m 100% ready to trust Garth Nix after The Keys to the Kingdom series finale, but the concept of this sounds so interesting.

Lady Hotspur by Tessa Gratton: This isn’t quite a sequel to The Queens of Innis Lear, but it follows along the same vein with a feminist, high fantasy retelling of a Shakespeare play. So you know, I should read it. But it’s so big and I know it’ll take time for me to read through it so I’m thinking of waiting to read it this summer.

Five Total Strangers by Natalie D. Richards: This one caught my eye because I’ve been trying to read more mysteries. The premise is interesting.

Charming as a Verb by Ben Philippe: I’ll be honest the cover of this book is what made me add it to the list, but since I always need more contemporaries to try, I want to give it a chance!

The Language of Ghosts by Heather Fawcett: I read all of Heather’s books last year, but I didn’t have a chance to read her new book. I plan to remedy that sooner rather than later.

Anya and the Nightingale by Sofiya Pasternack: This sequel somehow slipped under my radar. I had no idea there was going to be a sequel to Anya and the Dragon, but I’m really excited to read this one!

The Way Back by Gavriel Savit: I was going to read this back in December, but I found out the audiobook narrator was the same as Anna and the Swallow Man (his first book) and I decided I wanted to listen to it instead.

These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong: I just got a copy of this in the December Owlcrate, so I didn’t have a chance to read it yet. But I had my eye on it for a while because I can’t resist an interesting twist on a Shakespeare play.

Rick Riordan Presents books: So many books came out under the Rick Riordan Presents publication, but I only read one of them. I need to catch up soon!
