This week’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is Books On My Summer 2021 TBR. As always, I’ll be reading a variety of books this summer. Some are rereads, some are new books, some are from my physical TBR or for a book club, and there will also be several audiobooks!
Systems Divine trilogy by Jessica Brody and Joanne Rendell: I’m gearing up for the release of the third book in the Systems Divine series, so I’m going to be rereading books one and two this summer.
The Serpent’s Curse by Lisa Maxwell: If I haven’t read this book by the time this post is published, I probably need to add it to my summer TBR. I’m excited for it but it’s long and it’s been a while since I read book one and two and I don’t really know if I should reread the whole series first or wait until book four comes out to reread all of them.
Wings of Shadow by Nicki Pau Preto: I’m stoked to read the third and final book in the Crown of Feathers trilogy!
Small Favors by Erin A. Craig: I was approved an early copy of this book through NetGalley, but I’d be reading it this summer either way.
Dark Waters by Katherine Arden: I’m super excited for the next Small Spaces book, especially since I’m curious how she’ll make spring “spooky.”
Book Club: I’m in three book clubs and I have several titles to read this summer for those, including The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi, Renegades by Marissa Meyer, East by Edith Pattou, and Wondrous Strange by Lesley Livingston.
TBR books: I’m still working my way through my physical TBR. I kind of slacked off on this during the earlier part of the year, so I’d like to catch up more this summer. I’ve been planning my potential monthly reads around my physical TBR instead of just new books or books marked on Goodreads so that should help.
Star Wars books: Other than new releases/unfinished trilogies, I’ve listened through most of the Disney Canon Novels that cover the prequel era. I’d like to finish up listening to the books that take place in between Episode III and IV by the end of summer.
Odyssey Award books: I’m also still working my way through the Odyssey winner and honor books. I’m down to the odd titles that don’t interest quite as much or books I’ve already read before. There are also a couple that are part of a series so I have to decide if I’m going to make the effort to read/listen to the previous books in the series.
Non-Fiction books: So I made a goal at the beginning of the year to try to read one non-fiction per month. Well, I already failed that, so now my goal is to just read twelve non-fiction books this year. I’m doing okay with that, but I know I’ll need to read a few this summer in order to keep up with that goal. Any suggestions are welcome!
Dark Waters does sound good!

I really would love to get my hands on Small Spaces, it reminds me of R.L. Stine’s books and I loved Goosebumps as a kid! Also Small Favors is on my TBR and the premise sounds too intriguing to not pick up.

I never read Goosebumps because it was too spooky for me as a kid, but I’ve heard other people compare it so you might like it! 🙂
