Top Ten Tuesday: Inspiring Character Quotes

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is Memorable Things Characters Have Said. I love collecting quotes from books, so I thought I’d share some of my favorite quotes that are encouraging or inspiring!

“Courage, dear heart.” -Aslan, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader by C.S. Lewis

“Broken isn’t the same as unfixable.” -Iko, Winter by Marissa Meyer

“It takes ten times as long to put yourself back together as it does to fall apart.” -Finnick, Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

“I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens but just those that bring simple little pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string.” -Anne, Anne of Avonlea by L.M. Montgomery

“When things don’t go right, go left.” -Lemony Snicket, A Series of Unfortunate Events

“If you can’t beat the odds, change the game.” -Kaz Brekker, Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo

“You are broken. But it is the broken things that are the sharpest. The deadliest. It is the broken things that are the most unexpected, and the most underestimated.” -Avitas Harper, A Sky Beyond the Storm by Sabaa Tahir

“But that was the thing about courage. Sometimes you had to fake it to feel it.” -Gabi, Waterfall by Lisa T. Bergren

“But remember, boy, that a kind act can sometimes be as powerful as a sword.” -Dionysus, The Battle of the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan (I cannot believe I’m including a quote by Dionysus yet here we are!)

“Mum liked to say that some things happen for a reason, that sometimes obstacles were there to stop you from doing something stupid.” -Puck, The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater
