NetGalley Rejections 21-30

My NetGalley rejections seem to be growing every time I get on. I’m not really mad or anything, it actually makes me laugh more than anything. It’s fun to go back and share my thoughts on titles that I was rejected from reading.

Where Dreams Descend by Janella Angeles: I got a copy of this through Owlcrate later and didn’t get very far before I DNF’ed. So it’s probably a good thing NetGalley didn’t approve.

Winter, White and Wicked by Shannon Dittemore: I pre-ordered this, fell in love with the story, and joined the author’s street team. Let’s just say I’m pretty sure I’ll get an early copy of the sequel. 😉

The Cousins by Karen M. McManus: This is my least favorite McManus book at the moment so I’m not mad I was rejected to review it.

Red Stars by Davide Morosinotto: I had to look this up again to figure out why I requested it in the first place. Now I might try to find a copy to read anyways.

Spindlefish and Stars by Christiane M. Andrews: Another one that I have absolutely no memory of requesting. But the cover looks cool and the story is inspired by Greek mythology, so I might read it!

Blazewrath Games by Amparo Ortitz: I think I was waiting to pick this up until book two was released. It came out in 2021, so I added it to my ever growing TBR list on Goodreads.

The Princess Will Save You by Sarah Henning: I really wanted to like this one. I got a copy from the library to try and didn’t get far before giving up. I might revisit it once the whole series is out just in case I was in a weird mood at the time.

Among the Beasts and Briars by Ashley Poston: I was sad I wasn’t approved for this one. Especially since I proceeded to pre-order it and enjoyed it immensely.

Crownchasers by Rebecca Coffindaffer: I still have this on my TBR list. I was waiting for book two’s release before starting, but it’s out now!

The Language of Ghosts by Heather Fawcett: I read this one after it’s release and adored it so much I’m making the teens at the library read it for book club. Come on, NetGalley! I could have given you free high star ratings!

As of this month, I’ve been rejected on NetGalley 83 times and approved 117 times with 102 reviews sent and 2 I won’t review. I only have 6 requests in limbo at the moment because NetGalley added a button to withdraw requests. I was able to withdraw requests for several books that came out in 2021 and the beginning of 2022 that I highly doubted I would be approved to review since it’s way past their publication date. I’ve decided that once the publishing date is passed, I’ll withdraw requests.

  1. I always find it interesting to look at other people’s Netgalley stats. I don’t personally request books there, but the percentages of approvals (and which of the rejections you have since read and liked or not) is still interesting to look at!
