This week’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is Most Anticipated Books Releasing In the Second Half of 2022. This was actually harder to come up with than I expected. There are always lots of books I’m interested in but figuring out which ten are my most anticipated was a challenge. Here are the ten I decided on.
The Wonderland Trials by Sara Ella: While this is an anticipated release, I’m a little worried because I didn’t like Sara Ella’s other fairy tale retelling. But I have high hopes and want to give it a chance.
Empty Smiles by Katherine Arden: I feel like I’ve been waiting for this book for forever even though it’s only been a few years. I’m so excited to see how this series comes together. Also, that cover is super creepy.
Furysong by Rosaria Munda: This is probably my most anticipated release of the year. I need answers. I want happiness. I want dragons. I just need it ASAP.
Wishtress by Nadine Brandes: I love Nadine Brandes’ books! I already read an eARC of this book, but I can’t wait to have the final hardback copy in my hands.
Rust in the Root by Justina Ireland: I’ve been waiting for a new historical book by Justina Ireland. I was hoping there would be another Dread Nation book, but I’ll take anything at this point.
Spells for Forgetting by Adrienne Young: I’m excited to see what Adrienne Young does with an adult book!
Our Missing Hearts by Celeste Ng: I will always read whatever Celeste Ng publishes.
Cursed by Marissa Meyer: After reading Gilded and realizing it wasn’t a standalone, I need this book.
Saint by Adrienne Young: Even though I only read Fable and Namesake last year, I feel like I’ve been waiting a long time for a book about Saint. I am so excited this book is coming out!
The Shattered City by Lisa Maxwell: Finally! The end of The Last Magician series. This is another one that I feel like I’ve been waiting forever for it to release.
I’m also looking forward to Empty Smiles and Rust in the Root! I didn’t know that Adrienne Young had not one but two upcoming releases! I love her writing and will definitely need to read both of those, so thanks for sharing! Hope you get to read all of these books on your list.

Thank you!
And yes, it’s such a fun surprise that Adrienne Young has more than one book coming out! 🙂

These all sound great! I’m also really excited for Empty Smiles. I never try to limit myself to 10 books on these anticipated releases posts, though. I just throw ALL THE BOOKS at the blog and let them all stay there. 😉

Listing all your anticipated releases is a great idea. I think for me, these ten are what I really want to read, will do anything to get them kind of releases. There are definitely others that I’m interested in but if I don’t get to them right away, it’s not a huge deal.

That’s a good way to handle it, too! If I only listed books I was anticipating enough to buy/preorder, it would be a much shorter list.

It seems to be a popular title this week!

Those are all unfamiliar titles, but I recognize at least half the authors. And there are several I will be checking out, and a couple of series I’d like to start when I have the chance.

I love Katherine Arden, but I haven’t read her middle grade series yet. I should. I know it’ll be good. I hope you enjoy all of these. 😀

That’s funny because I haven’t read any of her other books, just the middle grade! I’ll get around to her Winternight Trilogy eventually.
Thanks 🙂
