This week’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is Books I Loved So Much I Had to Get a Copy for My Personal Library. I’m going to take this a step further and mention books or series where I own more than one copy of the book and list how many copies of each. Some are because I want to collect as many different covers as possible and others are because they came out with special editions or pretty covers or something.
Pride and Prejudice and Persuasion by Jane Austen: I only have one complete set of Austen novels, but I also have the fancy Thomas Nelson Season Editions for Pride and Prejudice and Persuasion. I need to get the Emma edition.
Grishaverse books by Leigh Bardugo: I’m lumping these together since they’re all connected. I own 3 copies of Shadow and Bone (hardback and both new special editions), 2 of Siege and Storm (hardback and paperback), 1 of Ruin and Rising (first special edition version hardback), 2 of Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom (regular hardbacks and the U.K. special edition)s. I only own 1 copy of Kings of Scars and Rule of Wolves, but they’re both signed and have sprayed edges.
The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater: I have three different copies of The Scorpio Races. I bought a paperback first, then found the hardcover at Half Priced Books, and purchased the Owlcrate 10th Anniversary Edition. I would love to have some of the foreign covers of this book but can’t justify buying them/owning them if I can’t read the language they’re in. XD
A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle: I own four different copies of A Wrinkle in Time, including the Barnes and Noble leather bound version.
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll: I also own four different copies of Alice in Wonderland. All with different kinds of covers!
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott: I have five different copies of Little Women, including the Thomas Nelson Seasons Edition, Barnes and Noble leather bound classic, and the Puffin Blooms edition.
Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery: I also own five copies of Anne of Green Gables, also the Barnes and Noble leather bound classic and Pufflin Blooms edition.
The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien: I have six different copies of The Hobbit along with an audiobook on cassette tape set that came in this cute little wooden box.
The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis: I own 7 complete sets of the Narnia books along with various other versions of random titles.
Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie: I own 10 different copies of Peter Pan. I just love finding interesting covers and editions. They’re so cool!
Wow, you own a lot of copies of these books. I’m glad you get to enjoy all of those rare and specialty covers. 🙂

Okay, you win! You have more copies of these books than I do. Your post made me realize that I do own multiple copies of Peter Pan as well, though, and that I want to get a fancy version of Alice in Wonderland. (Preferably one with the illustrations included.) Your version of The Hobbit in the wooden box sounds really cute.

There are so many choices out there for pretty classics. I like the Barnes and Noble leather-bound edition for Alice since it includes the classic illustrations but also the illustrated one by MinaLima (the people who designed stuff for Harry Potter movies) because it’s so gorgeous.

I’m also a sucker for gilded or colored page edges, and I know some of the B&N fancy editions do that.

I only have multiple editions of a few books: the collectors editions of the Six of Crows duology because they were so pretty and the collectors editions of the Shades of Magic trilogy because I wanted to read the bonus content (I still haven’t yet!).

Yes! The collectors editions for Six of Crows are so pretty!
I have some kind of special edition of Shades of Magic, but I know there was more than one type. Mine have black covers and are signed. I think I got them through Barnes and Noble. And isn’t it funny how you buy something for bonus content and then take forever to actually read it? XD I do the same thing!

I need to read The Scorpio Races. I have it on my TBR for November, let’s see if I get to it!
There are different versions of Little Women and Alice in Wonderland in the library at school.
I have a couple of books on Kindle and then in print as well!
Have a great Tuesday!

I would definitely encourage you to read The Scorpio Races this fall! I love it and try to reread it every year.

There are SO many beautiful covers of Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, and the Austen novels–they’re great ones to collect! I want a beautiful Austen collection, too. Great list!

Yes, there are! Too many, in my opinion, because I want them ALL! 🙂

I think they might fill a library, but it’d be worth it!

I actually have two copies of A Wrinkle in Time. I bought the ebook first and then the paperback. 😀
