This week’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is Authors Who Have a Fun Social Media Presence. I’m sure there are tons of authors with fun social media presences, but I can’t follow everybody or I’d never see posts. So this list is really just the main authors I follow on Instagram.
Nadine Brandes: You will never find someone as excited about books and writing and book boxes and Oreos and life as Nadine. Her posts are gorgeous, her Instagram stories are fun, and her captions are sometimes the best part of my Instagram day.
Rick Riordan: He doesn’t post every day, but when he does, it’s usually something entertaining or snarky (or about his books). I mean, just look at his profile picture! I want to be just like him when I’m a famous author.
Sabaa Tahir: Sabaa has a unique way of looking at the world, and sometimes that includes excellent snark and deadpan looks at the camera. She’s great.
Leigh Bardugo: She’s just fabulous, okay?
Mackenzi Lee: If you like dogs, fashion, and books, you should follow Mackenzi. I’m here for the dogs, tbh.
Ashley Poston: She is such a fangirl and I love it, okay? I’m glad she exists to remind me it’s perfectly okay to freak out over fictional characters, movies, books, and video games. Please never change! And continue to entertain us all by your amazingness.
Kayla Olson: Kayla’s posts are always so inspiration and amazing. I like how transparent she is about life and writing and that she’s unashamed to share her love for both books and tennis.
Jill Williamson: Jill is so fun! She takes such crazy photos, including fun photoshopped ones. And whenever she gets book mail, she’s super excited to show it off in her stories.
Emily Bain Murphy: Emily’s posts are always beautiful. She shares a lot of posts with the hashtag #findbeautyeverywhere and I think that’s a great way to look at life.
Maggie Stiefvater: If you like pictures of goats, cars, dogs, books, art, and other weirdness, Maggie is the best. I wish I was as cool as her.
Love the picks.

I just recently started following Ashley Poston on Twitter. Fun so far! I also follow Seanan McGuire (mostly for her posts on dice and cats and Disney), Diane Duane (general good stuff), Aliette de Bodard (fellow fountain pen lover!), and Silvia Moreno-Garcia (lots of posts of vintage dresses). But I didn’t feel like writing a post about their Twitter feeds, so I did a Tag Tuesday instead, LOL

Ashley is so great. If I still had twitter, I’d follow her too.
And this was a bit of an oddball prompt. I almost didn’t do it as well, but since I follow a lot of authors on Instagram, it wasn’t hard.

I couldn’t figure out if I wanted to link to the authors… tag them… post screenshots… and in the end I decided to just not do the prompt.

That’s how I felt as well! I struggled to decide on the thumbnail photo, but I eventually just chose a picture of a book by one of the authors.

That’s probably the best way to have done it.

I don’t follow many authors and those I do are usually because they require it for giveaways. LOL.
Speaking of Emily Bain Murphy, I canNOT wait for her new book. Sounds like she has a great online presence – I love positivity 🙂
Happy TTT!

Oh, I’ve followed my fair share of authors initially because of giveaways too. No shame there!
AND YES. I am SO excited for Emily’s new book. I keep hoping I’ll win an early copy or NetGalley will have it to request. 🙂
