This week’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is Books On My Fall 2020 TBR. These are some of the books I hope to read by the end of the year!
An Ember in the Ashes series by Sabaa Tahir: With the upcoming release of The Sky Beyond the Storm, I’m rereading the whole Ember in the Ashes series this fall.
Keeper of the Lost Cities series by Shannon Messenger: I’m still working my way through this middle grade series. I wasn’t able to get copies of them for a few months because of COVID, so I’m a bit behind from where I wanted to be, but I should be able to catch up in time to read the new book since it looks like its release date was changed.
The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater: I always reread The Scorpio Races around this time (October or November), so I’ll probably be doing that again.
Book Club books: I’m part of three book clubs, so I’ll be trying to read whatever books are chosen for our meetings this fall.
New Books: There are always new books coming out that I want to read. Some of the ones I’m most looking forward to are Return of the Thief by Megan Whalen Turner, Winter, White and Wicked by Shannon Dittemore, Among the Beasts and Briars by Ashley Poston, and From a Certain POV: The Empire Strikes Back.
NetGalley: I’ve been limiting myself on requesting books from NetGalley because it kind of got out of hand this summer. (I was so afraid I wouldn’t be able to check out some of these titles from the library because of COVID.) Three of the ones I have to read this fall are Instant Karma by Marissa Meyer, The Queen’s Council Rebel Rose by Emma Theriault, and Cast in Fireflight by Dana Swift.
Audiobooks: I’m still making my way through Odyssey Award winners and nominees as well as the Disney canon Star Wars books, so I’m sure I’ll be listening to quite a few books this fall.
YA mysteries: I want to get into more mysteries, so I’ve made a list of must-read YA mysteries to tackle before December. If you have any suggestions other than Karen M. McManus (I’ve read all of hers), please let me know!
Physical TBR books: I’m forever trying to read through my physical TBR shelves and forever adding more books to that list. I was hoping to read through about half the books I own that I haven’t read before, and while it’s coming along, I’ve still got a lot left to read.
Good luck with your list! I’m rooting for you. 🙂

Great list! I’ve heard so many good things about The Scorpio Races, I should give it a try.

I really loved Kara Thomas’ first two books, and I own her book The Cheerleaders that I need to read soon. She’d be a suggestion for YA mysteries. There’s also Caleb Roehrig; I loved his books Last Seen Leaving and White Rabbit. His latest is about vampires, but it’s still really good (The Fell of Dark).

Oooh, thank you SO MUCH for these recommendations. I’ve been eying The Cheerleaders, so I’ll probably make that one a priority. 🙂

Sounds like a good plan! I have the same problem with my physical TBR shelf—reading down some of the books I own is a major goal for 2021. Best of luck with your shelf!

Thank you!
Every time I think I’m making progress on my physical TBR, it seems to get bigger. I started off the year with about 100 unread books and I’ve read what I thought was a lot and my list still has 85 books on it. I was hoping to get through half, but I don’t think that will happen.

Fingers crossed! My physical TBR isn’t growing as fast right now because I’m doing a lot of ebook buying instead, but there are still a lot of books on there…

Hahaha, even digitally it’ll never end, will it?
Best of luck with that. 🙂

This is a great time of year for a Scorpio Races read or reread!

Great plans! For YA mysteries I’d recommend basically anything by Jennifer Lynn Barnes – her Naturals series is super creepy, her Debutantes series is more soapy, and she’s also got a new Knives-Out-ish book that looks amazing 🙂
