This week’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is Most Anticipated Releases for the First Half of 2021. While my goal is to read more of my backlist books, there are several new releases I’m looking forward to this year. Most of them are sequels.
Everything that Burns by Gita Trelease: It feels like it’s been forever since I read Enchantee, but I’m looking forward to its sequel.
Lost in the Never Woods by Aiden Thomas: I have a love-hate relationship with Peter Pan retellings, but I’m really hoping this one will be good because the concept is intriguing.
Flamefall by Rosaria Munda: I absolutely loved Fireborne and have been waiting so long for the sequel! It’s finally coming out!
Bone Crier’s Dawn by Kathryn Purdie: Bone Crier’s Moon was one of my unexpected favorite reads from 2020 so I’m excited to read the sequel.
Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo: Look at that cover! I need this book.
The Serpent’s Curse by Lisa Maxwell: I have no idea what this book is going to be about, but I need to know what happens next in this series.
The Nobleman’s Guide to Scandal and Shipwrecks by Mackenzi Lee: This is finally going to come out, right?
Luck of the Titanic by Stacey Lee: I need to catch up on ALL of Stacey Lee’s books, but this one sounds so good!
I Speak Boy by Jessica Brody: A middle grade, modern-day retelling of Emma? Sign me up!
Oddmire Book 3: Deepest, Darkest by William Ritter: I’m so glad that William Ritter is able to write more in this middle grade series and that this book will be focused on Cole. Ahhh!
Keeper of the Wood Between Worlds

I actually love the UK titles for Enchantee/Liberte better but I understand why they changed them for the U.S. Oh well!

Clearly! I definitely prefer the UK titles, and I think it’s kind of confusing to change a title when it’s only a duology and one book in the series is already out, but since they decided to keep the titles in the UK, it doesn’t really affect us.

Yeah, it didn’t make a lot of sense to me either! Especially for anybody who bought the first book originally and now the titles won’t match. But oh well!

Nice list! I haven’t heard of most of these, but they look good. I’m curious to see what you think of Lost in the Never Wood. I tend to get really hesitant about Peter Pan (or Robin Hood) retellings because I’m scared that I won’t like them…

I, too, hesitate when it comes to Peter Pan retellings. I’ve read (and watched) several that were not good and Peter Pan is so dear to my heart that I get so tired of the way people retell it. XD
But this one still intrigues me so I’m going to give it a chance. We’ll see.

I hope it’s one of the good ones! (Because that’s my problem. There are some really good ones too, it’s just hard to know which it’s going to end up being.)
