2021 and 2022 Reading Journal

I finished up my 2021 reading journal a couple of weeks ago so I thought I’d share a few pages from the past couple of months as well as what I set up for my 2022 reading journal. My goal for 2022 journal is to make it more “artsy” and to keep track of some other things I haven’t done before. It was fun to experiment with different mediums and a different set-up so we’ll see how it goes for the rest of the year!

It was fun to try to “redraw” the cover for this one ๐Ÿ™‚
This was a fun little doodle to try.
I took inspiration from the UK cover for this page.
I wanted this one to be fun so I incorporated all the little doodles from the cover into the page! This one is probably my favorite from the past couple months.
I looked through a lot of page spreads on Instagram and Pinterest and I found a few that track number of books by month using a color grid. I thought it was a fun idea and decided to give it a try this year.
One of my goals this year is to read through the physical books I own that I haven’t read yet. I included a list of them in my journal to keep track.
I got this antique sticker book and I’m excited to use more stickers in my journal.
I want to read through all of Beverly Cleary books (aside from Ramona since I read those recently). I also made a list of books to reread. I like making lists to keep track.
I have a page to note which books I read for book clubs I’m in.
Last year, I kept track of some of these stats on monthly page spreads, but I thought it would be neat to track them altogether so I can easily compare the numbers. This one didn’t come out as great because the ruler I used had paint on the edge and that transferred to the page (who knew?), but I’m okay with messy.

I’m excited to see how doing this type of reading journal turns out. I’ll share more as I make progress with my page spreads and tracking!

How do you keep track of what you read?

  1. I love your journal. I started to keep one this year but gave up after a week. It felt like a chore and I didn’t want it to be like that. I use notability on my ipad to keep track of my books. I have a list of my netgalley books and the order I’m going to read them in as well as a list of my actual books that I want to read. I might go back to a journal at some point.
